1. Introduction & Brand Identity
These Terms and Conditions govern the sale of all products and services by Crest Furniture (hereinafter referred to as "the Company"). By placing an order, whether via our website (crestfurniture.store), WhatsApp, or in-person at our Rongai workshop, you agree to be bound by these terms.
2. Material Disclosure & Craftsmanship
At Crest Furniture, we believe in transparency. We work with a diverse range of high-quality materials to suit different budgets and styles:
Solid Hardwoods: We primarily use seasoned Mahogany and other local hardwoods. Being natural products, these may exhibit variations in grain, knots, and shading. These are not defects but signs of authenticity.
Engineered Woods: We also utilize high-density MDF (Medium Density Fibreboard) and Blockboards for specific designs, such as modern wardrobes and TV stands, to ensure smooth finishes and structural stability.
Selection: It is the customer's responsibility to confirm the specific material (e.g., "Solid Mahogany" vs. "MDF with Veneer") at the time of quotation.
3. Custom Orders & "Bespoke" Disputes
Specification Approval: For custom designs, Crest Furniture will provide dimensions and descriptions. Once a deposit is paid, these specifications are considered final.
Deposit Policy: A 50% non-refundable deposit is required to begin fabrication. This covers the procurement of specific boards (MDF/Blockboard) or timber (Mahogany).
Changes: Any changes requested after production has commenced will incur additional material and labor costs.
4. Production Timelines & Delays
Handcrafting quality furniture is a process. While we provide an estimated timeline (e.g., 14–21 days), these are estimates, not guarantees. Crest Furniture is not liable for indirect losses caused by delays due to weather (affecting wood seasoning), power outages, or specialized hardware availability. We commit to providing proactive updates via WhatsApp.
5. Delivery, Access & Assembly
Fitment Responsibility: It is the customer’s absolute responsibility to ensure that large items (like 6x6 beds or 4-door wardrobes) can fit through their gates, doors, and stairwells.
Access Denied: If an item cannot enter the premises due to size constraints, no refund will be issued. We can, however, offer to modify the piece at our workshop for an additional "re-work" fee.
Assembly: For items requiring on-site assembly, the area must be cleared and ready before our team arrives.
6. Payment & Ownership
Final Balance: The remaining 50% balance must be cleared upon delivery (within Nairobi) or prior to dispatch (for upcountry orders to Kisumu, Mombasa, etc.).
Title of Goods: All furniture remains the legal property of Crest Furniture until the final cent of the invoice is paid.
7. Dispute Resolution
In the event of a disagreement, both parties agree to seek an amicable solution through direct negotiation. These terms are governed by the Laws of Kenya, including the Consumer Protection Act (2012).
